Once upon a time there lived an old man named Baikal. He was a rich and authoritative old gentleman, and he had a beautiful daughter, Angara. Father hid her from everyone not permitting her to meet other people. But once friendly gulls have told her about a joyful and handsome guy Yenisei. Since then he was the only one Angara could think of. Old Baikal became aware of it and locked his daughter behind seven doors with seventy seven locks, then decided to wed her to an ordinary young man from the neighboring village. But right before the wedding Angara disappeared and was nowhere to be found. Devastated he was crying till the end of his days. His tears have gathered to form the most famous lake, which was named Baikal.
