“The days are long, but the years are short,” they say.
It’s true. We know it’s true. But sometimes, the days are oh so long. They sometimes drag on, often monotonously blurring together one after the next; bleak and colorless as we go about our daily duties and the hustle and bustle of life.
But there is beauty in those long days - between the diaper changes, potty accidents, cleaning, cooking, laundry, and endless snacks; between playing the role of chauffeur, referee, nurse, and negotiator. At the end of the day, seek those beautiful moments and hang on to them. For when we are old and grey, we will look back and remember those beautiful rainbows and think “yes, the days were long, but the years were oh so short.”
