Connected Terracotta
is our limited edition microscopic leaf pattern. Ever since our foray into scientific research, we've always been fascinated by the complexity and natural design that exist in nature beyond our regular human vision.
Putting a leaf under a microscope, you can get right into the amazing world of the connectivity of the leaf's veins and the wonders of how every single vein is connected to another. Xylem transports water and solutes from the roots to the leaves, phloem transports food from the leaves to the rest of the plant.
Every single cell is connected. This also ties in with our fascination of the human placenta and how each vein is connected to another to ensure that our offspring are well nourished before they transition earth-side.
Connected was woven using our luxurious Mako cotton which is renowned for its unique wool-like texture and a sturdy terracotta weft. Our connected design was repeated using a clever infinity technique such that you can't make out the start or end of the pattern. The pattern was then embroidered into this double weave to create an outstanding woven wrap with a super-soft handle, optimal grip and durability.
Connected has been expertly finished in our high end specialised Yorkshire mill and it will get to you ready to wear straight out of its box. With its woolly double layered weave, it is suitable for new and experienced babywearers. Also suitable for carrying babies and toddlers.
The intricate nature of the weave has also added a good degree of breathability into the wearing properties of this wrap so this is great for all seasons. The weave structure is similar to that our happy faces teaching wrap and the weave has been adjusted to ensure that every single yarn stays intact to accommodate even prolonged hours of wearing.
