A soft cream cotton warp and lavender linen weft. Our Italian linen has a touch of magic about it, making it incredibly soft and not prone to creasing, whilst still keeping all the other great qualities that linen brings to a wrap. The linen has a natural shimmer and it is very breathable, helping to regulate temperature well. It will keep you comfortable in hot weather and layer nicely in the winter. The long linen fibres have limited stretch meaning that the wrap tightens quickly, and feels supportive even in single-layered carries.
The alchemy weave teamed with our special linen means that this wrap doesn’t need much breaking in and is great for beginners. It is mid-weight, flexible and moulding enough for tiny babies, but still comfy with large children too.
Part of the magic comes from how easy this wrap is to use, meaning that you get a snug and even carry that will stay comfortable for long periods. We used this linen back when we first set up the company and it was a fond favourite for many people so we’re super excited to have a new source to use!
The design is our slightly revised Nocturne design with full and crescent moons against a starry sky, framed with clouds.
Mid-weight, Alchemy weave.
Suitable for all ages from newborn to pre-school plus.
Supportive in single layer carries but not bulky.
Wraps true to size, no need to size up.
Soft and floppy in hand, balanced grip and glide.
Very easy to wrap with and tighten, making it a great wrap for beginners.
Simple to care for, not crease prone, can be machine washed and tumble dried.
Firespiral is the creation of Tamsin and Jen. We are passionate about woven wraps and had a shared dream to one day have our own designs woven. We live in an area with a wonderful weaving heritage and have been lucky enough to work with a very skillful weaving company capable of weaving something really special. Our designs are inspired by the universal patterns in nature that stray into both science and myth; the magical way in which we are connected to the world and its rhythms. We live at the edge of the west pennine moors, surrounded by stone circles, local legend and the wild beauty of the hillside, with the shadows of the cotton mills in the valley below. We feel a real sense of belonging to the ancient landscape and it is from this wonderful place that our inspiration takes shape. Some of our designs are an exploration of naturally occurring pattern, and some could be more accurately described as 'story cloths'. We both have creative backgrounds, Tamsin from an architectural viewpoint and bringing her experience of transforming wraps under the guise of violet chameleon, Jen as an artist and art psychotherapist. We want our woven wraps to be both artistically beautiful and take on deeper personal meanings for their wearers.
