Weft Name: Dragonfly
Warp Name: Moorland
Design Name: Charters Moss
GSM: 315
Weave Structure: Synergy
Average Width: 65cm
Blend: 100% combed cotton
Related Wraps: Charters Moss Kingfisher is exactly the same design and weft colour, but woven on a different coloured warp. This changes the look of the colours slightly
Wrapping Qualities: Cloth isn’t prone to pulling, passes glide easily over each other. Smooth texture but not silky, thicker feel in hand, dense but good stretch and recoil. Ties with a large knot, wrap softens even more with use.
Care Requirements: No special care requirements, can be machine washed, tumble dried and ironed. Very simple to care for!
Notes: There are 5 different weft colours woven onto the mustard hued Moorland warp to create this wrap. The brown part of the design has alternating shades of hazelnut and praline (light and dark brown, but it is lunchtime as I write this!!), and the turquoise side contains a smoky blue combined with an aqua green and light peacock blue. The mustard warp shines through these colours to create an iridescent effect- the cloth shimmers as you change the viewing angle.

Firespiral is the creation of Tamsin and Jen. We are passionate about woven wraps and had a shared dream to one day have our own designs woven. We live in an area with a wonderful weaving heritage and have been lucky enough to work with a very skillful weaving company capable of weaving something really special. Our designs are inspired by the universal patterns in nature that stray into both science and myth; the magical way in which we are connected to the world and its rhythms. We live at the edge of the west pennine moors, surrounded by stone circles, local legend and the wild beauty of the hillside, with the shadows of the cotton mills in the valley below. We feel a real sense of belonging to the ancient landscape and it is from this wonderful place that our inspiration takes shape. Some of our designs are an exploration of naturally occurring pattern, and some could be more accurately described as 'story cloths'. We both have creative backgrounds, Tamsin from an architectural viewpoint and bringing her experience of transforming wraps under the guise of violet chameleon, Jen as an artist and art psychotherapist. We want our woven wraps to be both artistically beautiful and take on deeper personal meanings for their wearers.
