Birch Blast offers incredible texture throughout its complicated pattern of satin and twill weaves. It looks beautifully marbled when wrapped. The texture provides grip in any kind of pass, spread or bunched. It's like turning the key and locking the door, keeping little ones contained while their disorganized thoughts and feelings and bodies come back to center.
At 315gsm this wrap is somewhat weighty, but surprisingly easy to wield and offering medium thickness in hand.
An undyed cotton warp provides the base for the hemp-like Eco2cotton® weft in this sturdy woven wrap. Birch Blast will break in after a few washes and some use, though it is not overly stiff right off the bat.
The color is sometimes gray and sometimes oatmeal, depending on the light. It is the great un-natty, able to handle dirt and dragging with aplomb, while still offering the glorious go-with-anything neutrality of a natty wrap. Machine wash and dry? Check!
Eco2cotton® yarn is made of recycled cotton products -- think of the cuttings that would otherwise fall to the floor at a t-shirt factory. What a fabulous idea! It is undyed after it is spun into yarn, creating no new pollutants and using no more water to make. Yet it retains its own special mix of colors from the dyes that were in its source fabrics.
