A few of you have asked whether we had a special wrap planned for our new baby. I have been collecting a few from some of my favorite companies and makers. I would love to share with you this special one we made. Filigree Noir is a black combed cotton weft on our wine purple to black gradient warp. Where it is black on black the pattern makes the fabric seem embossed and as the gradient lightens into purple the Filigree pattern appears to grow out of the blackness. I have made myself a size 6 and one other wrap is going to a friend. This ring sling is the third and last from this fabric. We are offering it in a charity dip and asking you to help us raise funds for the charity Hope for Justice who work to identify and rescue victims of human trafficking and slavery and help them to try to rebuild their lives. We've put a link in the comments to a harrowing story we read this week that made us want to raise funds for this cause.
Like a sandy bay hugs the sea, our woven wraps and slings are designed for you to carry your baby safely and snugly. We work with our local weavers in Yorkshire, England to create soft and strong natural fabrics perfect for baby-wearing.
As a family of artists it is our vision to create beautiful artworks and stylish patterns on our wraps. We design each fabric so the images, flow and space in each pattern take on a completed form when wrapped around you and your baby.
Each wrap is carefully sewn by Juliette who is a very experienced seamstress and babywearer. We also design and sell accessories, such as hats and cowls in the same material to match your slings to wear whilst you're out showing your baby the world.
