The subtle variegated anthracite silk provides very little contrast with the dark grey metal. The metal is very strong but as it is a very light yarn it will not be stiff or rough. You will only notice when ironing, this wrap keeps it's creases, no iron will help, it is part of the look. The high silk percentage provides a lot of support while not being overly bulky.
