Aroha Mutunga Kore 'Pukepoto'
We are excited to bring you the second release of Aroha Mutunga Kore, our everlasting love design. In a vibrant pacific sea blue woven on an ecru warp, we have named this one Pukepoto. In reference to the historically revered and sought after mineral clay that was used to beautify the wearer and celebrated for it’s rarity.
Created in collaboration with Hirini 'Heeds' Katene, of House of Natives, Aroha Mutunga Kore is based on an original kowhaiwhai design that speaks of the bond of love between parent and child.
In a zig zag along the length is the manawa line, this is the heartbeat. From here come two mangopare. One is to represent strength and guidance from Mum and Dad. The other is made up of three puhoro to represent the bond between mother and child and their journey in life.
This wrap is made for all levels of wrapping experience, suited to carrying little ones at all stages. At approx 250gsm in loom state it is a thin to medium weight, densely woven in 100% fine cotton yarn. Soft and blankety to touch, it has glide and mouldability yet also plenty of grip from the richly textured design.
There will be wraps in several sizes and small numbers of Ring Slings converted by the wonderful Kelsey of K.I.Designs.
We will let you know more precise timing before Sunday!
Retail pricing will be as follows:
