When we first laid eyes on the first of our Quad-blend Stockinette wraps, the shimmer and play of light on the linen and silk in the light reminded us of light sparkling through the rain in a thunderstorm. Although it’s commonly been referred to as Petrol Stockinette, the new series of quad blend stockinette are inspired by meteorological phenomena. The first two in this series are St. Elmo’s Fire and Heat Wave.
St. Elmo’s Fire appears as a blue or violet glowing light during thunderstorms and it was the perfect name for our petrol stockinette. St. Elmo’s Fire is a luxury quad blend wrap consisting of 57% Egyptian cotton, 20% linen, 15% ethically sourced merino wool, and 8% fine silk. One side of St. Elmo’s fire features a navy background with shimmering blue, teal, and periwinkle stockinette “knits”. The reverse is an ombre of blues and teals with opaque navy “knits”.
The quad blend wraps are medium weight at 272 g/m2, feeling thin in hand and very supportive. The require a bit of breaking in, but will transform to be incredibly soft and floppy.

My vision for wraps wasn’t simply to introduce another wrap to the market. Woven Wings Baby wraps are woven in the UK in a renowned Mill specialising solely in bespoke high-end quality textiles. Established since 1720 working in collaboration with luxury Fashion houses and couture designers they produce fabrics that are of the highest quality and demand. Fibres are carefully and ethically sourced, and all yarns are dyed in-house allowing for one-of-kind colours. Some of my wraps will feature our non-chemical luxurious finish which makes them blankety soft straight out of the bag and requires no breaking in.
