Kerchief is an American Made Woven Baby Sling. It is a medium-weight wrap and suitable to carry babies of all ages and stages. From Poe Wovens Founder, Nancy Sunderland, "Since I began babywearing, I wanted to a bandanna themed baby carrier. Loom-restrictions at our textile mill prevented us from having full creative freedoms with our design, that is until now! The East Coast mill from which Kerchief is sourced from, has allowed our jacquard textile designer to bring my vision to life, and in vivid, vibrant color!"
Kerchief is the second woven wrap Poe has released featuring a double cloth, (the first was Kaleidoscope). Though we adored the duality of design this style afforded us, we sacrificed the ease of movement, drape and pliability most wrappers prefer.
Kerchief, like Recon, underwent close to a dozen weave trials before landing at its current composition. Initially boasting a linen warp, then moving to mercerized cotton construction. Why did we abandon the linen you ask? (Trust me, I didn't want to) The resulting fabric was too thick and heavy. The fine mercerized cotton yarn yielded a much more user-friendly textile.
