While traditional materials like cotton, wool and linen require planning, tending and care, dust bunnies have been an overlooked resource, readily available in most homes. Known for their mysterious and rapid breeding, which makes them a near-endless resource, dust bunnies offer a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fibres.
The domestic dust bunnies used in Vårskælm have all been raised free-range, organic and have been allowed to reach maturity before they are gathered, using Nordic Slings' patented gentle vacuum lure technology. The angora is then extracted, irregularities like earrings and legos are thoroughly removed, and the remaining fibre is then spun into long, fuzzy, soft and slightly sneeze-inducing threads.
