International Women’s day is always an occasion to highlight women’s conditions, but also to draw attention towards the wonderful people who dedicate their lives to help women throughout the world.
I have learned about the work of Dr. Denis Mukwege for a few years and admire this man for his commitment to help the women of his community, but also to raise awareness on rape used as a weapon of war. Called Dr Miracle, this surgeon gynecologist from Congo and his staff helped to care for more than 40,000 survivors of sexual violence and put their lives at risk in doing so.
