Endlich! Hier kommt das Neisna Konfetti! Dieses Tragetuch hat eine ganz besondere Bedeutung für mich, denn die Schappeseide wurde von meiner Schwester, meiner Mama und mir von Hand gefärbt. Es steckt soviel Liebe und Arbeit in diesem Garn.
Schappeseide, kurz auch als Schappe oder alternativ als Florettseide bezeichnet, nennt man Seide, die aus Resten des bereits abgehaspelten Kokons hergestellt wird.
Rest- oder Abfallgarn der Maulbeer Seide. Schappe ist deshalb unregelmässig und hat viele kleine Knötchen. Das Seidengarn hat einen goldenen Schimmer und sieht durch die "Speckled" Färbung einfach einmalig aus.
Durch die Handfärbung ist das Garn natürlich nicht ganz regelmässig gefärbt. Die Speckles sind manchmal etwas häufiger und manchmal etwas weniger zu sehen.
