Falling Feathers Blackcap is made from one of our favourite blends - 75% cotton and 25% tussah silk, which means it's incredibly soft, mouldable, supportive, and gentle on even the most sensitive skin. If you’ve tried this blend before, you don’t need us to tell you how insanely comfortable it is to wear, both with newborns and toddlers. This is a wrap you'll turn to time and time again throughout the whole babywearing period!
When a design is produced in an extremely limited run (there's only one of each size available for Blackcap!), we feel that it's fairest to release it via draw rather than in our online shop. With a draw, everyone gets an equal chance to add this beauty to their stash - we'll pick at random who receives an invoice! It's a little more exciting this way too, isn't it?!

It’s time for us to introduce you to Falling Feathers Oriole! Made from a blend of cotton (75%) and linen (25%) with a stunning colourway reminiscent of our 2015 limited edition release Falling Feathers Purbeck - dark grey cotton flecked onto burgundy, with silver grey linen slubs in a melange twist which beautifully shows off all the different shades of grey within the yarn.
And oh, lovely lazy linen - it’s a classic for a reason! Hypoallergenic and gentle on even the most sensitive of skin, Oriole is an easy care dream. It’s soft and mouldable straight from the bag, ever so light yet super strong with wonderful drape. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, this blend is perfect from birth all the way through to toddlerhood
We’ve chosen the finest Italian linen for this wrap - made from flax, it’s a low impact fibre that requires few or no pesticides and relatively little water to grow. And every part of the plant is used too, so there’s no waste which is very important to us as we embark on our journey to become a fully zero waste company!

Super soft straight from the box and woven onto our signature cream/white warp, this beautiful green 50/50 cotton and tussah prototype will be a really special one to own. Prototype wraps come about when we are trialling new weaves, yarns or colour ways at the mill. These wraps are woven in very small amounts - typically only 2 to 4 per design, making purchasing them a truly exclusive opportunity! And Willow Warbler is a gorgeous one - thin but not flat (it has the perfect amount of rich green nubs and slubs), easy to work with, and works wonderfully for the whole baby wearing period, especially when using multi layer carries.

Meet Falling Feathers Vicinior (and a brand new Sling Studio blend!). Named after a pretty little Vireo bird, this wrap is a gorgeous light grey delicately intertwined with blue tussah nubs on a cream warp. Made from a blend of cotton (50%), linen (30%) and tussah silk (20%), this beauty has all the best qualities of these three magical fibres. It's super strong yet thin, soft, and oh so airy - it's perfect for the whole babywearing period, from those precious squishy newborn days all the way through to the end of the adventurous toddler years.
With this colourway and this new blend, we think Vicinior is fated to be a SS favourite. It's been woven in a very limited run - only a few wraps and ring slings available - and is now available to purchase on our website!

Invoices have now been sent for yesterday's prototype release - and excitingly, we have another one for you! This time, it's a 50% tussah and 50% cotton blend: Falling Feathers Duckling. There's only a few size 6 wraps available - and boy, is it beautiful: pastel yellow on cream, with mustard and brown tussah nubs. The people who end up with this wrap in their stash will be very lucky indeed!

Cashmere, undoubtedly the jewel of the yarn world. We have added a twist of linen to the cashmere in Falling Feathers Purslane which makes it a perfect investment piece for all year round carrying. Suitable for all and providing amazing cushioning for older kiddy winks, this beauty is super soft and wearable straight from the bag.
It's been woven in a very limited run, and is now available to purchase on our website. We have another new release for you to meet - say hello to Falling Feathers Carrion (50% Cotton, 50% merino). Like our beloved Buzz Aureate, this is a wrap we think is utterly timeless; these beautiful grey tones will look good with any outfit, all year round. Yes, all year round - whilst we tend to think of wool as a winter fabric, it actually reacts to the temperature changes of your body like linen does which means that it keeps you cool in the heat and warm in the cold! It's also anti-static, anti-dirt, and practically stain resistant, which we all know is a parent's dream.
All in all, it's a pretty magical fibre and makes for a pretty magical wrap. We've sourced a new wool this year: the finest Italian twisted melange merino - it's non mulesed, sustainably sourced, and fully traceable. Blended with the cotton, the result is particularly soft and cushy and an absolute dream to carry with 🖤🪶

Here’s a little sneak preview of the sage green beauty we’re releasing tomorrow! Falling Feathers Turaco is made from a blend of 50% cotton and 50% finest Italian merino , no mulesing , sustainable wool. Spun and dyed in Italy , 100% traceable to source. There is a cashmere softness to the yarn.

Our second Falling Feathers release of November is this blue high Tussah beauty – meet Speckled Egg, the latest addition to our SS21 collection!
Made from a blend of 50% tussah silk and 50% cotton, it has gorgeous tussah nubs ‘speckled’ across it which are sumptuously soft and not at all itchy. The colour of this sling is quite hard to pick up on camera, as the tone changes slightly depending on the lighting (it’s actually quite magical!) but we think the flat lay photos are the best representation of the ‘true’ colour.
We know how many of you have been asking for 50% tussah slings, and this one has been made in a very small batch so we’re using the classic Sling Studio draw method to ensure that everyone in our timezone diverse international community gets a chance at adding Speckled Egg to their stash! If you're outside of the UK and EU and would prefer to purchase ex VAT, there's a form for you too.

This beauty and its name may seem familiar to you. Puffin was a beloved classic Sling Studio wrap - six years after its original release, it's still very much sought after in the community and is incredibly difficult to find in the second hand market; a quintessential ‘unicorn’ wrap. One quick search of ‘puffin’ in our Sling Studio Squad group and you'll see how universally it's adored. Well, drumroll please, it's time for you to meet Puffin's big sister. Woven in the same spectacular coral, pink and yellow colourway in a 50/50 tussah and cotton blend but this time on a cream warp instead of grey, Atlantic Puffin is truly a sling to behold. Soft straight from the box, and even more bright and eye-catching than its predecessor, we have a feeling this one will go down in SS history too.

We’re so excited to introduce you to the latest addition to the Falling Feathers collection, and a brand new Sling Studio blend! Available to purchase on our website until Friday, Collared Dove is a stunning grey on cream warp, comprised of 50% Cotton, 30% Linen, 20% Silk. This wrap is wonderfully supportive, light in the hand, and is named after a pretty pigeon whose gentle coos are a familiar sound to all of us here in England.
Here’s what Jana, one of our wonderful testers, has to say about this wrap: ‘Beautiful, timeless, versatile and pure strength. It has very nice grip, so even though it is a thinner wrap, you will be happy with it because it remains in place once you wrap your baby. And if you are addicted to grey, you will definitely love the small black details of the melange grey bourette silk woven in this wrap.
