This Heirloom weave structure has a fascinating history that has been passed down and preserved for over 200 years, and we are so honored to be a part of this legacy It was designed by a woman named Patience and her daughter Peace who lived in Massachusetts in the late 1700s. Using linen and wool from their farm, they wove fabric for their family's blankets, bedspreads and other assorted items. When Peace got married, she took along several weaving drafts that she and her mother had designed. They were brief notations scribbled on small scraps of paper that were passed down for several generations until they were donated to the local historical society and deciphered into modern weave drafts.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
While our carriers are normally shipped in loom state, all of the Heirloom Garnet carriers have been prewashed and are ready to wear. Since the red dye can sometimes bleed, we have washed each carrier several times with both a dye fixative and color catchers to prevent the red dye from bleeding on the natural yarns. Your carrier will be shipped with a box of color catchers, and we recommend using 3 or 4 sheets for each subsequent wash. Especially for these carriers, it's very important to follow the washing instructions and only wash with cool or cold water. Make sure to wash/dry separately to prevent any color transfer to other items. For complete washing information, please click here.

Heirloom Fuchsia will be released on our website this Saturday, March 4. It's a luxurious cotton/Tencel blend in a beautiful magenta color that's just perfect for spring!

If you're a fan of mercerized cotton, you won't want to miss this chance to wrap your littlest Valentine in Ruby! Compared to the other cotton Heirloom releases, Ruby is thinner in hand with more glide and less grip. The lower GSM is perfect for beginning wrappers or those wrapping little ones, but multi-pass carries are awesome for toddlers as well!
After the first wash, Ruby quickly becomes incredibly soft and silky. This cotton wrap is very easy care - just throw it in the wash, and then tumble dry on low. If you don't care for highly textured wraps, then a quick steam iron will tame the texture.

Heirloom Topaz will be released by draw on January 5, 2017. Topaz is 100% cotton, about 290 gsm and starts at only $115 for a size 3.

From the top: Diamond, Emerald, Topaz, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Amethyst and Ruby. All are still in loom state here, so the colors will be a bit richer once they're washed.

Diamond is 75% cotton / 25% linen and will be available in the following sizes:

Using linen and wool from their farm, they wove fabric for their family's blankets, bedspreads and other assorted items. When Peace got married, she took along several weaving drafts that she and her mother had designed. They were brief notations scribbled on small scraps of paper that were passed down for several generations until they were donated to the local historical society and deciphered into modern weave drafts.

The name on the original draft was simply "Summer and Winter", which is now used to classify an entire group of weave structures. To prevent confusion, we are calling this design "Heirloom" which the Miriam Webster dictionary defines as "something of special value handed on from one generation to another". All of our products are designed, woven and finished within the USA, and truly are heirloom products that can be used to snuggle and hold your babies, and then be passed along to the next generation.

Heirloom will be woven in very small batches of over 20 different color and fiber combinations, with small releases of wraps beginning in January 2017. We will occasionally be offering limited releases of throw blankets, cowls and infinity scarves as well. Heirloom Emerald is now hemmed, washed and ready to go out for reviews! The differing wrap qualities between colors is really quite interesting, considering they are both woven with the same 100% cotton yarn.

This beauty will soon be up for draw! It is a one-of-a kind prototype, our Heirloom pattern woven with a blue Tencel weft. More information and a draw form will be posted later this evening.

Heirloom is an overshot weave and is woven on a vintage dobby loom.The complex structure creates an incredible cush and stretch. This original sample was woven with an 8/2 cotton weft and while it's incredibly cushy, we are currently sampling a few other weft options to see if a Tencel or mercerized cotton weft would give it a bit more glide while maintaining the cushiness of the weave. As soon as sampling is complete, we will announce release information. Pricing will depend on which materials are used, but will be under $200 for a size 6.
