The Spin collection is inspired by playground fun – spinning around and around with arms outstretched, spinning on a roundabout or making snow angels in the winter snow. I can go right into the centre of each panel of the design and feel those childhood feelings. It’s so good to be carefree like that sometimes.
I recently learnt that the design is based on a traditional Japanese pattern and since it has a mathematical and tessellating feel to it, the names for our Spin collection have been inspired by famous mathematicians. The first release is named Aida after Japanese mathematician Aida Yasuaki.
Aida is the perfect squish wrap or starter wrap as it’s sumptuously soft from the get go but is also rock solid in multiple passes with toddlers. With subtle flashes of colours appearing throughout, this is a striking wrap with a bold design. Greens, reds and blues can be found in the wrap but the overall deceptive effect is one of monochrome. Made from 100% cotton, Aida is a lighter weight wrap weighing in at 250gsm with a width of approximately 67cm after wash.
