Another amazing collaboration with artist Oxsana Pasishnychenko, Owlpost is exclusive wrap created for one of my favorite groups called S.P.E.W. (Society for Potter-Enthusiastic Wrappers). Sarah is one of my favorite nerds! A good price point, great wrapping qualities and a fabulous company/owner, Owlpost is an all-around fabulous wrap. It is stretchy, supportive, and moldable. It is suitable for newborns through toddlerhood. It is ready to wear after the first wash and dry, and wraps very easily. This very smooth wrap help the passes glide nicely and gives it excellent drape. It stays fairly similar to loomstate with regard to thickness, a nice medium feel. Makes a nice small knot, and the slip knot glides well. This wrap isn't sturdy solid, won't budge. It has nice bounce and cush, provides good support with some give.
Wraps very similarly to Cari Slings Under the Sea and Double Helix lines. The satin weave provides great softness and moldability. Currently found in grey (The Wrap That Must Not Be Named), green (Acceptance Letter), and purple (Headmaster's Robes).
We welcome you to Cari Slings.
We are a small family business located in North Carolina, creating and manufacturing high quality, boutique style machine woven wraps.
All our products are woven and finished in the US, and we strive to keep our products and labor as local to us as possible. We are working closely with two different mills to provide a variety of wrap designs and hopefully soon, fiber choices. One of mills local to us, keeping with our desire and commitment for growing and sustaining our local economy.
Our wraps are woven solely with natural fibers and we strive to work closely with our mills to create unique, quality textiles that can be handed down to your children's children.
The name Cari Slings is a tribute to my Caribbean heritage. I was born and raised on the island of Trinidad, an island known for its gorgeous landscapes, diversity, culture and food. It is our desire to fuse our Asian and West Indian cultures with American textiles and babywearing practices.
I am mother to three young children, and my husband and I have worn our children since birth almost 9 years ago. Our philosophy is that babywearing is so much more than simply wearing your child. It's a lifestyle, one of keeping our children and family close to our hearts, through our parenting and life choices.
I love and support handmade goods and work at home mothers, for I am one myself. For the past five years, I have been designing and creating handmade garments.
Cari Slings is a combination of my love for babywearing and textiles.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
