A bordeaux yarn carries out its mission with a bang. The Grapes Blind Tasting wrap appears as high contrasted or low contrasted and bordeaux yarn travels over colors of several red wines, from purple to true bordeaux with ruby shades – depending on light.

Actually I am not a big fan of honey. From the very childhood I always wait that honey tastes of condensed milk. But it does not. And it attacks taste buds with more power. But there are some honey sorts I can hoover up. I also like honey fairs and their plenty of sorts. Each honey sort is a unique union of origin, color, body, smell and taste. (Now I have a feeling of describing wine.)

Humans had domesticated fire long ago. Fire can give us warmth, meal and coziness. Cinders in the chimney are so cozy and comforting during long winter evenings. A funny Räuchermännchen is one of the Christmas attributes.

Please meet our next collection – “Metamorphosis”. It is about magic of a physical and chemical transformation, about power of nature, about eternity of life and about our choice.
The first wrap of the collection is Pine Cones Black Resin. The name leapt in my mind but I think I know its roots. It was inspired by two songs. First of all by the song “Штиль” of the Russian heavy metal band “Ария” (Aria, song “Calm”). For a very long time I knew only the version “Schtiel” sung by “Rammstein” we often listened to when sailing. But I like both versions. And in the song there are words “Штиль, сходим с ума, Жара пахнет чёрной смолой” which can be translated as “Calm, we are going mad, The heat is smelling of black resin”.
The second song is “Чужой” of the folk-rock band “Мельница” (Melnitsa, song “Chuzhoy”) and its words “Сосны видели сны, как им мачтами стать кораблей” (“Pine trees dreamed to become ship musts”).
Sailing theme is hard to avoid! Everything has got all mixed up – pines and resins, musts and sea…
Pine Cones Black Resin wrap is woven similarly to our patterns Marina and Grapes so it is tight but soft and with air reserve and after the first wash it will become even more airy. It is toddlerfriendly but soft enough for smaller babies. Black ELS cotton and Verde Kelly green Italian combed cotton make the wrap shiny.

When my husband trained to become a skipper, the instructor, Colin Pearson, represented the arrangement of the mess room one day.
“What is it for?” he asked his students opening one of the drawers.
“For water!” was the answer.
But Colin smiled: “No, it is for wine. And this one?” – and he opened a locker.
“For water!”
“Nooo, for wine!” Colin smiled again.

Wine. The history of wine is perhaps as long as the history of civilization.
Wine is more than a drink.
Grape variety and terroir. Color, smell and taste. Source of joy and inspiration.
Wine is an art.
So meet our 4th pattern – Grapes. Grapes Decanter, inspired by brilliant Riedel decanters, is the fourth and the last design of our collection “Clichés”.
Wine needs some air, needs decanting to open up. Grapes Decanter needs air and a little breaking in to open up too. It is woven similar to our pattern Marina – tight but soft and comfortable. You will use it with joy )

Please meet our third wrap of the collection “Clichés” – Marina Pirate! It is our third pattern and the first nautical-inspired one at the same time.
Coordinates are a usual motif for sailing clothing and accessories. Their appearance on MainSling wraps was quite logic. But it took some time to make a decision about the point which coordinates to place on our wraps. And I chose Netsel Marmaris Marina, Turkey, where my first sailing voyage (yacht delivery actually) finished. It was the most imressive, the most difficult and the most educational voyage for me. (“The first time? And such a tour?” the skipper asked by meeting a crew.) I have chosen the finish point not the start one because my husband had his RYA Skipper training and got his first skipper certificate there so the place is important for both of us.

I only passed the second night watches – because I was not very useful and it was quite distressing.
The pattern is perfect for dads. And for mums’ sport shoes. Do you often wear sport shoes? I did during my first babywearing year.
Marina Pirate is woven tight and needs some breaking in. But due to high qualified ELS cotton and Italian combed cotton yarn with loose twist it is soft and airy from the very beginning.

Spruce Cones Zebra’s Dreams is the second design of the collection “Clichés”.
Spruce Cones is the sister pattern of Pine Cones. The story of the pattern is quite simple – I just couldn’t choose between naturalistic and geometric versions of cones. So I made both )
Pine Cones and Spruce Cones have some identic color ways and similar names. The name Zebra’s Dreams has the same idea as Pine Cones Panda’s Dreams – zebra dreams of spruces never meeting them in its natural life.
The wrap is incredibly soft due to “herringbone” part of the pattern. It is a good choice for newborns but suitable also for kids up to 10 – 12 kg in multilayer carries.

MainSling sets the sails! Here it is, our first release! Please meet, now officially, our first design – Pine Cones Panda’s Dreams of collection “Clichés”!
Having a black warp I couldn’t but made all the patterns in black-and-white and banded them into collection “Clichés”. Today it is the time for the first of them, Pine Cones.
Pine Cones is a motif full of meanings. It is so natal, drunk in with verses and New Year songs. It is a symbol of childhood with belief in the reality of miracles. Evergreen, pine is a symbol of life eternal. A symbol of Russian interminable taiga.
The idea of the name – Panda’s Dreams – was inspired by M. Yu. Lermontov’s verse “На севере диком…” which is actually a translation of H. Heine’s “Ein Fichtenbaum…”.
The wrap has sleepy dust, it is proved )) It is soft even in loom-state and suitable for smaller babies and for bigger ones up to 12 kg as well.
