A new design in the Loombera Slings collection!
A springtime refresh. As always, magical symbols, our adoration for the starry sky, the mystical moon and the goods of mother nature, have been smuggled into the latest pattern called STYRKUR.
We opted for simplicity and created a wrap woven from 100% Egyptian cotton, to give it a soft and fluffy feel, it has been double woven.
Do you know why we are so keen to use Egyptian cotton to weave our slings?
Genuine Egyptian cotton is a rather unique type of cotton. It is only grown in a specific place - the temperate climate and fertile soils of the Nile delta. Its original name is gossypium barbadense, and it is also known as extra-long cotton. The growing conditions here are so perfect that the cotton has evolved over time to form longer and longer fibres, which is a great advantage because it means that the thread produced from the fibre is thinner than other types of cotton, and this results in products containing more threads.
Egyptian cotton becomes softer and more pleasant to the touch over time and after each wash.
This pattern is a harbinger of more to come inspired by the cosmos and its power!

The sound of silence balms my soul. It soothes, hugs you like your best friend, allows you to rest and focus and a moment of meditation. When I hear silence, I can immerse myself, feel at one with my soul, find a connection and regain my balance. During my last mountain trip, I had the honor to hear the silence of the universe, to feel like a part of a larger whole, like a small piece of a larger puzzle, the meaning of which is not yet known to us, but we deeply feel that where we are going - is good. Stunning peace combined with the beauty of the surrounding world enchanted me, absorbed the whole, giving inspiration to weave my new wrap.
The silence, nature and mysticism that inspired me to create this wrap enchant me every day. That is why I am proud to present the Silence wrap in a completely new version - I used not only wonderful cotton but also nettle fibers to weave it - but do not worry, the nettle fibers do not sting! I decided to weave only 12 wraps in this pattern and composition, never no more of them will be created, which makes them even more special and unique.
Let me tell you about the characteristics of the nettle yarn. It is made of 100% natural materials, without any added chemicals, Himalayan nettle sourced ethically from the indigenous people of Nepal. It is wild and at the same time extremely soft, has long fibers to the touch resembling baby hair. It is irregular like linen and as strong as linen, but as delicate as milk yarn. Breathable, natural in every detail and incredibly eco-friendly, just perfect! The wrap is decorated with three foggy runes that appear above the treetops. Mannaz, Algiz and Berkano denoting three symbols in symbiosis, three powerful forces guarding the child.
The new color "Silence - L'ortie sauvage" was created to pay tribute to nature, which always gives me a little respite and tranquility in the daily rush. I hope that these wonderful colors: velvety deep green combined with deep black will also make you feel calm and soothing in your heart. This wrap definitely combines the secrets of the forest with peace, quiet and gentleness worthy of the first touch of a newborn's skin. By wrapping your baby in a wrap that is incredibly soft to the touch, you also wrap your baby around them with your love and give them the best. Caring for a child is so natural and primal, it allows us to connect with nature and feel part of the circle of life. During these amazing moments, you can visualize how good we feel when we do something that is in harmony with our nature, slowly catching every priceless memory.

Aquarelle la Chamade est notre première écharpe sur chaine bleue et écrue.
Je l’ai travaillée avec des trames aux teintes vertes, qui se mêlent au bleu de la chaine tout en douceur. Plus de chaine noire ici ! Les couleurs sont pures et vivantes, tout en étant pastelles.
Est-elle verte ? Est-elle bleue ? Résolument les 2 ! En fonction des reflets, c’est le vert qui domine… ou bien le bleu.
Le rendu est lumineux et chatoyant. Les couleurs sont infiniment changeantes, mais toujours délicates.
Cette écharpe a été imaginée en 2 versions, tissées en 2 sens opposées, l’endroit de l’une étant l’envers de l’autre.
On aurait pu les appeler vice et versa, mais on a choisi la Chamade secrète et la Chamade irrésistible…

The beautiful DIDYMOS Trias makes a new appearance in an all-cotton release. Subtle shades of natural, silver and grey combine for an impressive result! The ecru coloured cotton of Trias Argento is a subtle background which highlights the beauty of the Trias pattern. The combination of silver and slate grey organic cotton yarns add a beautiful silvery sheen to the fabric. The pattern is woven into the fabric using a special jacquard weaving technique so the pattern appears on both sides but with the colours reversed.

Like all our double weave fabrics, the heavy weight Trias Argento provides impressive wrapping qualities. Even at heavier weight, the doubleweave technique makes the textile seem much more lightweight. It is cushy and mouldable with a very comfortable feel on the shoulders. Recently, I heard a beautiful Persian legend about how the rose became the queen of flowers. It brought a warm smile on my face, which always appears whenever I think about the fragrance or the delicacy of this divine plant. And the ancient Persians knew how to create stories that touched the heart and imagination. A long, long time ago, all the flowers of the world complained about the dominion of the lotus flower, which fell asleep at night and was unable to take care of its subjects. When the Almighty looked at this situation, he knew that such unique plants as flowers deserved to be a wise, good and beautiful ruler at the same time. The obvious candidate for this place was a flawless rose, dignified, magical and insanely beautiful. She spread her wisdom, charm and goodness around, being at the same time an inspiration for lovers, a refuge and support for those in need. The Almighty gave her a crown and thorns so that she would never fall asleep while wielding flowers. And so for centuries, wearing a crown proudly, never falls asleep, guarding beauty, goodness and love. In fact, the rose is much older than the human, so maybe that is why it knows so much about how to combine opposites and be sweet, beautiful and strong at the same time. Looking at the rose, its center is like the sun, and its petals are the harmony of nature, and this harmony inspired me to weave a wrap from this extraordinary yarn.

It is a spectacular fiber that combines the nobility and softness of cashmere, the delicacy of bamboo and the strength of linen.
