Celeste Kaleidoscope is a 100% combed cotton wrap and part of our Elements range. It is suitable for new and experienced wrappers alike and as robustly toddler-worthy as they are soft enough for newborns. With a natural coloured warp and sunny turquoise weft, these wraps can be worn with either cloth face showing for two very different looks. The weave is a slightly tighter variant of our Alchemy weave structure but we use the same high quality cotton as standard. Whilst these may take a touch more ‘breaking in’ to reach their ultimate floppy & mouldable potential they are still very user friendly wrap straight from the bag, and the tighter weave makes them a true workhorse. This is a medium weight wrap, weighing in at approximately 250 gsm.
Firespiral is the creation of Tamsin and Jen. We are passionate about woven wraps and had a shared dream to one day have our own designs woven. We live in an area with a wonderful weaving heritage and have been lucky enough to work with a very skillful weaving company capable of weaving something really special. Our designs are inspired by the universal patterns in nature that stray into both science and myth; the magical way in which we are connected to the world and its rhythms. We live at the edge of the west pennine moors, surrounded by stone circles, local legend and the wild beauty of the hillside, with the shadows of the cotton mills in the valley below. We feel a real sense of belonging to the ancient landscape and it is from this wonderful place that our inspiration takes shape. Some of our designs are an exploration of naturally occurring pattern, and some could be more accurately described as 'story cloths'. We both have creative backgrounds, Tamsin from an architectural viewpoint and bringing her experience of transforming wraps under the guise of violet chameleon, Jen as an artist and art psychotherapist. We want our woven wraps to be both artistically beautiful and take on deeper personal meanings for their wearers.
